Nick Lees worked as a London crime reporter covering Scotland Yard before
he came to Canada in 1967. He later became a hippy in Mexico, a maitre
d’ for a hotel in Vail, Colorado and a North Sea oil rig roughneck before
returning to Canada to write a thrice-weekly column for the Edmonton Journal.
His adventures include parachuting with the Airborne Regiment, climbing
Canada’s highest mountain and, last month, cycling the 1200 km between
Vancouver and Edmonton in nine days. |
